Sunshine Pages Acquires Bayou Pages

Metairie, LA - July, 16, 2009 - EATEL subsidiary Sunshine Pages has acquired The Bayou Pages of Lafayette, the company announced Thursday.

The agreement to purchase The Bayou Pages, a local yellow pages directory serving the greater Lafayette area, will expand the Sunshine Pages west into the Acadiana area.

"We're excited to be back in the Lafayette market and welcome The Bayou Pages into our family of directories," said Robert Burgess, EATEL president and COO, the parent company of Sunshine Pages. "The Bayou Pages' reach and reputation is a natural complement to EATEL's 75 years of phone service in South Louisiana and the SunShine Pages' position as one of the leading directory publishers in the country."

"Expanding our coverage along the I-10 corridor, covering the Mississippi Gulf Coast and much of South Louisiana, means a better return on investment for our advertisers," said SunShine Pages General Manager Pemmie Sheasby. "The Bayou Pages will continue to have a strong local presence, as our Lafayette office will remain open and the name of the directory will stay the same."

The 2009 edition of The Bayou Pages is being printed and will be distributed in the next few weeks.

In addition to the printed directory, those who prefer the convenience of the online directory can continue to look up yellow and white page information on www.BayouPages.com, Your Bayou Online.

"Sunshine Pages has been pioneers in enhancing its online directories and developing online search engine marketing tools for its customers," said Sheasby. "We're excited to bring many of those enhancements to our Bayou Pages' customers."

Just as the SunShine Pages supports the communities it serves with local maps and guides and listings of area events, The Bayou Pages' community information is a go-to source for many customers and will remain the same in the new book.

The Bayou Pages and online directories include: college sports schedules, community and newcomer's information, Downtown Alive information and schedule, map and street guide, information on the Mall of Acadiana and Lafayette's transportation services, hurricane tracking chart, evacuation routes and emergency preparedness information.

The Bayou Pages distributes 210,000 books each year in Lafayette, St. Martin, Acadia, Vermilion, Iberia, St. Landry, Evangeline and St. Mary parishes.

Both the Sunshine Pages and The Bayou Pages have won numerous industry awards, such as the Gold Book Awards and Association of Directory Publishers, for its marketing, creative design and on-line product.

SunShine Pages is one of the leading independent directory publishers in the United States and distributes more than 1.7 million phone books throughout southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi coast.
